Where it is made

By law, Prosciutto di Parma can only be made in the hills surrounding Parma in Italy. This is an extremely defined area in the province of Parma, south of the via Emilia.
The unique conditions of this region have made it possible to produce one of the highest quality prosciuttos in the world.

Any hams which aren’t produced within this set area cannot be branded as ‘Prosciutto di Parma’.
In addition, any hams produced in this region but NOT meeting the requirements set by the Consorzio cannot be branded as ‘Prosciutto di Parma’.

The production of Parma Ham is a long and very carefully monitored process, with many regulations that must be followed in order to create the delicious prosciutto we know and love today!
