The Parisian agri-food event par excellence, Sial, scheduled up to 23rd October at the Parc des Expositions, has just opened its doors. A very important fair event at which the Parma Ham Consortium could absolutely not fail to be present.
On 6th October 2014 Prosciutto di Parma will be showcased by well known chef Valentina Harris at The Restaurant Show, London.
The Consorzio del Prosciutto di Parma has teamed up with the top author and chef for a live cooking demonstration.
Parma Ham ended 2013 with a total turnover of 1.5 billion Euro and a production of about 9 million, a quantity level that has remained stable for a few years now.
They are called “Belli e Ben Fatti” (lovely and well made) and are products of the middle-upper market segment in the key sector of "Made in Italy" products, and Parma Ham legitimately falls within this category. But beyond the image there is also much substance, highly respectable numbers that make Parma Ham an icon of success of the Italy that is highly regarded abroad.
Today the Crown of Prosciutto di Parma celebrates its first 50 years. First item on the programme was the unveiling of a new celebratory logo in the presence of journalists, representatives of local bodies and teachers and pupils of the Toschi High School, in the Portici del Grano. The work of the children who were involved in the creative project has been on show there for several days and will remain there for the whole of the month of April.
10.6% Parma Ham in trays and growth in exports (+4%)
Parma, 4 April 2012 – Parma Ham ends 2011 successfully and the results prove it: sliced ham grew by 10.6%, while exports recorded a 4%growth for a total turnover of 1.5 billion euros.
